Boost your Bootamp Boxing Workout with these Tips

Hi guys! It's Travis here today. I'm very excited about a new fun opportunity that presented itself to coach the Uruguayan rugby league team here in Sydney. I speak Spanish and as you may know, I married an Argentinean. I lived in Argentina for 2 years and I played rugby at a local team. This was around 10 years ago! So, I think it's going to be a lot of fun to go back to that and coach this team, we're playing against El Salvador in September. The team is made up of guys from Uruguay but the majority of the team were born here in Australia. I'm thrilled to coach them! Yesterday it was boxing time at Bootcamp. We had a hard session for which I combined strength and cardio as the interest of the girls at Bootcamp is a mix of cardio boxing and some are more interested in combos and proper boxing techniques. As in any Bootcamp, we have the old, permanent clients and the new crew members. So I think it's super important to cater to everybody so they can get the best workout.

Here is a boxing workout idea that combines boxing combos, strength and cardio. This is a variation of the add on, 40 seconds on, 15 seconds off for 5 rounds. How it works, we basically add a new exercise for each round. It goes for 5 minutes roughly. To startup, I spiced it up with a combo instead of just straight punches.

Round 1: left, right, hook, uppercut (40 secs)

Round 2: combo, followed by a short run (40 secs)

Round 3: combo, run, 10 high punches (40 secs)

Round 4: combo, run, 10 high punches, burpee (40 secs)

Round 5: combo, run, 10 high punches, burpee, mountain climber.

The pad holder will hold a squat like a boxer completes the run.
