Fitness Games for Bootcamp: The “1, 2, 3” Game

December 13, 2022
2 minute read

In this fitness game, you are essentially going to pick 3 different exercises, with each exercise corresponding to a number.

Example

Number 1: High 5 and then Plank

Number 2: Squat Jump and then Plank

Number 3: Bum tag and then Plank

The “1, 2, 3” Game

Step 1: Pair your Bootcamp up into groups of 2

Step 2: Ask your participants to introduce themselves to their partner

Step 3: Play the game but ONLY use the number 1. Example you just call out number 1, and then your participants do the “Hi-5 and Plank” and hold the plank. They then keep holding the plank until you call out number 1 again.

Step 4: Now add “number 2” to the mix. Your participants are holding a plank, if you yell out number 1, then they “Hi-5 and Plank” and if you yell out number 2, then they “Squat Jump and Plank”

Step 5: Now add “number 3” to the mix. Your participants are holding a plank, if you yell out number 1, then they “Hi-5 and Plank”, if you yell out number 2, then they “Squat Jump and Plank”, if you yell out number 3, then they “Bum tag and Plank”.

Step 6: After about a minute, switch partners around and perform the drill again but with different a different partner. Keep changing partners every 20-30 seconds to keep it up

Step 7 (optional): You can also put sequences together. Example, you can call things like “1, 2, 3” and participants would have to Hi-5, Squat Jump, Bum Tag and then Plank. Or you could call “1, 1, 3” and participants would have to Hi-5, Bum Tag, Bum Tag again and then Plank. Etc etc

You can increase the intensity by yelling out the numbers faster and encouraging your participants to perform the movements quicker and you can decrease the intensity by yelling out the numbers slower and encouraging your participants to perform the movements slower.
