I attended a new gym the other day and they had an outdoor area with a turf floor and bits of functional training equipment! So I put together a little workout to do for myself and thought I’d share it!
Functional Training Circuit
Great workout for a 1 on 1 Personal Training Client for a Small Group Training session where you have 4-6 people working through the workout at their own pace.
It could also work in a Bootcamp setting – you would just need to tweak some of the exercises so there is less equipment involved. If I was running the workout above in a Bootcamp setting it would look more like this
10 x Bodyweight Hip Thrusts
10 x Kettlebell Bent Over Rows (5 each side)
10 x Squat Jumps
10 x Medicine Ball Slams
10m Tire Flip
10 x Battlerope Slams
10meter Sled Pull (with a Battle Rope)
With the workout above, if you had 18 participants – you could get away with 3-4 Kettlebells, 3-4 Medicine Balls, 1 Battlerope and 1 Tire. If the Battlerope and Tire stations get crowded, you would just ask your participants to complete some of the exercises and then head over to the Tires and Battleropes when they are free!
