How the process works

Prerequisites

There are no official prerequisites for these courses — anyone can enrol. However, the courses assume you’ve completed a Certificate III in Fitness (or equivalent). You’re welcome to take the courses without it for interest purposes, but keep in mind that on its own, the course doesn’t give you the qualifications to train people — you’ll still need a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Fitness for that.

Who Designed Our Courses?

Fitness Education Online - Founders

Fitness Education Online

At Fitness Education Online, we are proud to be one of Australia’s leading and multi-awarded fitness education providers, offering a wide range of CPD-approved courses tailored for Australian fitness professionals. Our courses are fully recognised by AUSactive (formerly Fitness Australia), Physical Activity Australia, and REPs NZ, ensuring they meet the highest standards for accreditation and professional development in Australia and New Zealand.

While based in Australia, our accredited courses are also globally recognised, extending to fitness professionals in the US, Canada, Europe, and beyond. This includes recognition by CIMSPA in the UK, EREPS, and REPs Ireland, making them ideal for those seeking international qualifications.

Our courses are specifically designed to help fitness professionals enhance their skills, meet registration requirements, and excel in their careers, no matter where they’re located.

Working with a variety of different individuals you’ll notice no one has precisely the same fitness needs, but in most cases, it’s possible to give them a similar fitness workout when they have similar health conditions and goals. People with unique medical conditions, such as musculoskeletal disorders or previous injuries that haven’t been rehabbed properly can’t have the same treatment. They will risk injuring themselves again and not be able to workout because of the pain if they are forced to exercise the way everyone else does. It explains the need for certified fitness instructors who specialise in training special groups (people with chronic ailments or musculoskeletal complications).

Take our online certification courses for special population training. You can earn your CPDs points and become certified to offer fitness training to people with unique health conditions.

Becoming a specialist for certain populations is an advantage as a fitness professional. It gives you an edge over other trainers who do not have the same knowledge or credentials in this area. You can accept clients with musculoskeletal disorders; old injuries that have affected their mobility; and health conditions that are currently affecting their ability to move and perform day-to-day activities.

You can help these clients still train but have individual programming for them. For some, fitness training helps them build muscle strength and experience improvements in their mobility. If you can fill these needs, you may tap into this market and help improve the quality of life for your clients.

Whether your goal is to offer a new service and gain extra income or fulfil your advocacy to help people with mobility problems, Fitness Education Online is the course provider to call. We provide top-tier training and learning opportunities for fitness professionals in Australia and NZ. Organisations like FitRec, Fitness Australia, and Physical Activity Australia all recognise our special population certification courses. Completing this certification course will give you credits and credentials that are recognised outside the country.

Increase your employability and income opportunities by getting certified as a special population fitness trainer. Qualify for specialised positions in gyms and fitness centres that want to target this particular market. If you work as a freelancer, you may also offer your services as a private instructor specialising in individuals with limited mobility due to muscle, joint, and bone disorders.

Testimonials

I recently completed the **Gut Health Essentials** course and found it to be an incredibly practical, informative and evidence-based course for anyone wanting to better understand gut health.

Bex Lock was an extremely knowledgeable presenter who made the course both interesting and easy to understand. I particularly appreciated how she connected the science to practical applications for working with clients, which is especially valuable for Personal Trainers and health and fitness professionals.

As a Pilates Teacher and Personal Trainer, I found the course fantastic and gained a much greater understanding of the digestive system and the role of the gut microbiome.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to expand their knowledge of gut health and learn how to apply this information in a practical way when working with clients.

I’ve recently completed a Cert 4 in Nutrition Coaching with FEO. I found the entire experience to be very positive; from the initial inductions and sign up, through to final completions and course assistance. The team provide a seamless experience that was an overall positive outcome.
Having done previous studies in Psychotherapy the course was easy to review and utilise in my business. I would recommend all Health Professionals implement Behaviour Change modalities in their services.

I enrolled in my Cert IV with FEO after completing my Cert III and Group Fitness Certification with other providers years ago. AusActive required nine subjects to be re-completed through bridging units. I expected this to be a hurdle, although FEO made the process straightforward. Assessments are marked quickly, and any questions about content or the course are answered clearly and concisely.

The content is friendly, engaging, and well structured, with none of the clunkiness I experienced with other providers. I am also completing the Older Adult Population CEC modules and enjoying those as well.

I’ve been in the fitness industry for 25 years and recently completed the Technique Essentials for Fitness Professionals course with FEO.

I really enjoyed the course and found it practical, easy to follow and very relevant to what we do as fitness professionals. Even after many years in the industry, it was a great refresher and reminded me how important the small details are when it comes to exercise technique, movement and coaching clients properly.

I’d definitely recommend this course to both newer trainers and experienced fitness professionals. There’s always something to learn or improve on, and I found the course genuinely worthwhile.

Thanks to the team at FEO for putting together such a useful and enjoyable course.
I have been a personal/group trainer around 20 years.
I have completed my Mat Pilates course and Prenatal and Post Natal course with FEO and absolutly loved both.
For anyone training women in the fitness industry, i highly recommend expanding your knowledge around womens health and fitness, and if you want to add another level to your training, Mat Pilates, for me has been a hit!!!
I am a huge believer in continually evolving and updating your knowledge within this industry to keep clients/members safe and continually developing their fitness journey 💜🙏
