As a Personal Trainer running a Bootcamp – you can never have too many TRX bootcamp ideas!
In my opinion A TRX (or any Suspension Trainer) is hands down the best piece of equipment for a Personal Trainer running a Bootcamp!
A few reasons why
-It’s light and portable! You could keep 5-6 TRX’s in your car and it would take up little to no space and would weight practically nothing! Try doing that with 5-6 Kettlebells… Or 5-6 Medicine Balls… It’s not quite the same :p
-Every single person uses the same TRX. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an elite athlete or my grandma – you’re going to use the SAME TRX. Compare with that Kettlebells – beginners usually use an 8kg bell… Intermediate 12kgs… Advanced 16kgs… So if you’re running a Bootcamp not only do you need to bring multiple Kettlebells but you need to make sure you have a wide variety of weights… and just HOPE that everyone gets their appropriate weight…
-You use the same TRX no matter what exercise you do! E.g. Whether i’m doing a row, chest press, squats or triceps I use the same TRX… Let’s compare Kettlebells again… I can squat a lot more than I can swing… and I can swing a lot more than I can bent over row… etc etc
Now it’s ENDLESS that amount of exercises / workouts etc you can do…
So in this blog I just want to simplify it and give you 3 simple TRX Bootcamp ideas.
For the sake of simplicity, we are going to use the same 4 exercises in each Bootcamp workout
– TRX Chest Press
– TRX Tricep Extension
– TRX Row
– TRX Bicep Curl

TRX Bootcamp Idea 5: 16min TRX Circuit

TRX Bootcamp Idea 2: 16min TRX AMRAP

TRX Bootcamp Idea 3: “The TRX 10 to 1”

Note: you can add exercises to do after each round… E.g. after completing 10reps of each exercise participants could do 5 burpees, 9reps of each exercise - 5 burpees, 8reps of each exercise - 5 burpees etc ec.
Should take an average participant approximately 15mins to complete.
TRX Bootcamp idea 4: “The TRX Ladder”

Note: you can add exercises to do after each round… E.g. after completing 10reps of each exercise participants could do 5 burpees, 9reps of each exercise - 5 burpees, 8reps of each exercise - 5 burpees etc ec.
Should take an average participant approximately 15mins to complete.
You could these same four workout formula’s and just replace with your own exercises.
For example, let’s take a look at them again but this time use only lower body exercises
TRX Bootcamp Idea 1: 16min Lower Body TRX Circuit

TRX Bootcamp Idea 2: 16min Lower Body TRX AMRAP

TRX Bootcamp Idea 3: “The TRX Lower Body 10 to 1”

Note: you can add exercises to do after each round… E.g. after completing 10reps of each exercise participants could do 5 burpees, 9reps of each exercise - 5 burpees, 8reps of each exercise - 5 burpees etc ec.
Should take an average participant approximately 15mins to complete.
TRX Bootcamp idea 4: “The TRX Lower Body Ladder”

Note: you can add exercises to do after each round… E.g. after completing 10reps of each exercise participants could do 5 burpees, 9reps of each exercise - 5 burpees, 8reps of each exercise - 5 burpees etc ec.
Should take an average participant approximately 15mins to complete.
Now the examples above are either specifically “upper body” or specifically “lower body” but there’s no reason you can’t mix and match. I’m not going to list all the different examples but I’m sure you get the idea.
